  • Why choose Tennis Central at Hamlet?
We know there are many tennis clubs and programs in the area, however, Tennis Central stands alone in the quality, professionalism, care and results of its programs and coaches. Tennis Central specializes in accelerated improvement for all ages. • What happens if I miss a class?
MISSED CLASS POLICY: Tennis Central will allow cancellations or rebookings of lessons as long as they are requested more than 24 hours from the start time of the scheduled lesson via an email to alexis@tenniscentral.net and call/text to 571-462-6100. Cancellations within 24 hours of the start of the scheduled lesson will be charged the full lesson price. Health-related cancellations within this 24-hour period will require a note from the doctor to be exempt. There will be no other exemptions. Lessons that are canceled by Tennis Central due to bad weather do not fall within these restrictions. If the student must miss class due to reasons unrelated to Tennis Central, he/she will have the option to 'make-up' the missed class on another day that the class is offered within the same session IF AVAILABLE. Once the session is over, there will be no carry-over of missed classes.
  • Who is the Hamlet Tennis Director?
Alexis Baguelin is your Tennis Director. He can be reached at Alexis@tenniscentral.net
  • What happens if it rains (outside of the summer camps)?
RAIN POLICY: For those classes that are outdoor only, we will cancel class in the event of heavy or sustained rain. The instructor will be responsible for making the call regarding cancellation at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time and will use the best weather predictions to inform his/her decision. If the entire class is cancelled, students will be able to 'make-up' the missed rain class on another day that the class is offered within the same session. Once the session is over, there will be no carry-over of missed classes. If the class begins and must be ended early due to rain, the make-up will not be offered. With prior approval by the Tennis Director, the player may also choose to join a class in another program within the same session.
  • What is the 'Minimum Number of Registrants Policy'?
Minimum Number of registrants policy: Classes need a minimum number of registrants or the class will be cancelled. Refunds would be issued in that event.
  • What is the youngest you will accept players into your programs?
Our Mini Spartans programs start at 4 years old. If you have a very developed 3 year old that is able to focus, please email us at hamlet@tenniscentral.net to discuss and set up an evaluation lesson.
  • How often should my child play for the fastest improvement?
Our experience is that the best recipe for improvement is 2 groups and one private lesson per week.
  • Who teaches the camps?
Unlike most programs that staff their camps with highschoolers, the entire Tennis Central Team is composed of adults with world-class credentials/rankings that have been meticulously vetted and certified. Each of them take your child's improvement very seriously and are always available to discuss progress or help you create an individual plan to further accelerate your child's development.
  • How do I reserve a court?
There will be many camps and clinics on the courts through the year, so we STRONGLY recommend that you reserve your court. • Can I bring my outside instructor to give me a lesson?
The Hamlet Swim and Tennis Club rules expressly state that outside instructors not certified by Tennis Central are not allowed on the Hamlet courts. We have worked hard to design a clinic line-up for kids and adults to meet the needs of the members and welcome any comments or suggestions from the community on how we can continue to improve. Our private lessons or semi-private lessons are fully customizable and our coaches are the best in the area.
  • What is Tennis Central Refund Policy?
REFUND POLICY: Tennis Central does not offer refunds under any circumstances. Payments received can be redeemed in the form of credits that can be applied to any product or service that Tennis Central provides. No shows and late cancellations are not granted credits.
  • What should my child bring for summer camp?
We recommend that children bring the following to camp every day: * tennis shoes with socks -- flip-flops, open sandals, close-toe sandals, black-soled shoes are not allowed on the courts. * tennis racquet -- if your child does not have a racket we can help suggest a racquet that fits their size and level. We are an authorized Babolat dealer so can also order and string the racquet for you. * hat * sunscreen * bottle of water -- they will be able to fill up their water bottles during camp as well. * snacks -- we will take plenty of breaks, especially as the temperatures rise, so little snacks that are easy to eat (like cut fruit) are great. * lunch -- the kids will be exerting lots of energy so will need good food to refuel. We will not be able to refrigerate their lunches so, if there is perishable food, consider packing in a small cooler. * change of clothes
  • For the summer camps, how do you handle the rain?"
There is no rain cancellation. Campers report to the courts at their normal time and if we are not able to play tennis outside we will do relevant activities inside the clubhouse. Tennis Central's approach values strategy and mental toughness as much as technique and playtime. We believe that the mind and the tennis IQ must be trained in a classroom setting. We welcome the Rain Breaks as they provide well-needed Brain Breakthroughs.
  • Can tennis staff help my little swimmer change into tennis gear?
Our staff is only allowed to help tie shoes. They will not be able to help your child change their clothes. Hamlet Club requires a guardian to be present at all times during the swim of any child 8 years old or younger.
  • What happens if I am not able to pick up my child by the time camp finishes at 3:30pm?
Pick up closes at 3:45. But don't worry, if you can't make it we will provide aftercare. if you arrive any time after 3:45, you will be charged the standard aftercare fee of $25 until 4:30pm.
